Stress Related Dental Problems: TMJ
As you may already be aware, stress is the cause of many disorders and diseases in our bodies. They have even been linked to cancer. But let's talk about what stress has to do with dental problems. Temporomandibular joint disorder is one of the causes of stress in your body. It is the pain you experience in your facial muscles, jaw and skull. The facial pain may be described as a soreness in the facial muscles, although it can be a more severe pain, as well as a throbbing pain that radiates to the temples and forehead. TMJ is not really a disease. It is really a disorder caused by the misalignment of the jaw joints caused by too much stress.
